Custom Markup

Since Schema Premium version 1.1.2.8, we’ve added a way to add your own custom structured data markup in the recommended JSON-LD format via a simple post meta field.

For every schema.org type you enable on your content, a new tab for Custom Markup will show in the Schema Properties post meta group.

Custom schema.org markup

Custom Schema.org Markup Post Meta

  • You can add schema.org markup in JSON-LD format.
  • Using the repeated field, you can actually add several schema.org codes to the same post or page.

Append To Structured Data Markup

By default, the Custom Markup you add will be added -appended- to the actual structured data markup enabled on the post or page.

This is pretty useful when you want to add multiple schema.org structured data markup to the same page.

Override Structured Data Markup

Another cool feature is the ability to override they main schema.org structured data markup of the page with a simple setting.

By setting the “Override Markup” setting to Yes, you can tell the plugin to use the custom structured data markup value to override markup generated on this specific entry.
